Jag är född i Skottland, uppväxt i Australien, men har varit bosatt i södra Sverige i 4 år. Jag pluggade 2 år på Österlenskolan för Konst och Design i Simrishamn.

I took this picture, and the others in the Vårsalong, using a technique called pinhole camera, or "camera obscura" på svenska.
The images are exposed for periods of time between 45 seconds and 2 hours, depending on how strong the sun is. During winter in Sweden the sun is rare, and weak when it does appear; it was difficult to get good contrast.
In early spring 2010, I lay on the floor in the attic and felt the warm sun on my face for the first time in months. I quickly grabbed my camera and took this photo. It was the first photo in the series, and was the starting point for all the photos that followed.
The images in Liljevalchs were taken during spring, summer and early autumn of 2010, as I gradually recovered from darkness and loneliness, and fell in love again.
They are about light and darkness, cold and warmth, the passing of time and the pausing of time...
